If two teams have say, 2 losses, and one team is 4-0 against 3 lesser opponents (including an FCS opponent) and Big5 team and the other is 3-0 against lesser opponents (with NO FCS teams) BUT played a ninth conference game, are they equal?
That's exactly what we'd have if we win out and win in Dec. when compared to the SEC teams. Keep in mind those SEC Big5 opponents include an unranked WVU team, #15 Wisky (good on them), Indian U (and Mizzou LOST that one) #20 K-state. And I don't think MSU played a Big5.
