G0D Damm!t... Shariff Williams is out...

Quitting football due to health concerns. What about MY concerns for our defense? Where do I fit in to all this?

Here's a story. ... Given the severity of that knee injury (which he describes), this isn't a shock. At least he can say he gave it a shot...

I really feel for the kid. I assume the program honors the scholarship and he uses it well and gets his degree.

Yes, paperwork might not be done yet... but that is the direction it is headed.

And, I'm not sure if this has been out there or not, but Arizona also losing a running back to transfer (I added to bottom of story on Williams).

I think I'll give him a pass. It pains me to even think about my foot touching my head. Good luck to you, Shariff! Thanks for giving it a go.

Remember watching this game because of the multiple Cat recruits. Sharif was the one I was most excited about. So, so disappointing for this kid to have his career ended before it really even started. Nothing but the best to him obviously.

By the way, running back on the other team during the game he was injured? Christian McCaffrey.

He showed lots of promise. I thought he would be thee nose guard we were looking for. I wish him all the best. It is incumbent upon him now to get his degree, work hard, and find the way to advance himself off the field. As we all know so well, football is a fickle mistress, always a lover, but never faithful. Football will always abandon you for a younger man, always. All you can do is watch.
