JJ Taylor is in ....

I saw a youtube video of him, and he was very impressive. He's small (5'6", or thereabouts), but he's powerfully built and shifty. We need to keep an eye on this guy ... he could be the sleeper of this class.

Agree. After Eletise and Tate he's the guy I'm most excited to see on offense.

And BTW, those of us under 5'10" prefer "Great Pad Level Guy" to "Small".

Funny you mention that, because I just read a great article about him and Tate possibly becoming the backfield of the future, and it makes me excited! Could this be our long-awaited, WV West Pat White/Steve Slaton combo that we've been searching for since RichRod got here? Early indications would suggest that. The coach in the article says JJ is a real sleeper and compared him to Maurice Jones Drew. I think we are going to like what we say from Khalil & JJ:

http://tucson.com/sports/football/college/wildcats/khalil-tate-j-j-taylor-make-up-arizona-s-backfield/article_c41442cb-7876-513f-970f-db24cb0857dc.html

Some quotes/highlights from the article about JJ:
“He’s amazing,” said Centennial coach Matt Logan. “I’m glad that U of A is giving him the opportunity, Most schools would have shied away from a kid who lacks the size. I see him being a Maurice Jones-Drew type and being super-effective in college.”

The numbers speak for themselves, and they’re even better than Tate’s. As a senior at Centennial, Taylor rushed for 2,149 yards and 41 touchdowns. He caught two touchdown passes and returned one kick for a score.

“It’s funny, people always talk about a play and say, ‘I can’t believe he made that play in a game,’” Logan said. “But it wasn’t a big deal for us because he makes five or six of those every practice. And just running the ball, he’ll do it from special teams. It’s just amazing.”
