RR told the walk ons last week that it was coming. Either over the Sancet or the field just north of stadium. Hopefully we can follow Oregons lead and make it a beer garden at half time and allow re entry. It would pay for itself after one season. EJ

With all those funds going toward the stadium upgrades we'll see who Byrne can tap for naming rights for the new building. Making it a beer/food/tailgate activity area next to the stadium is an interesting idea.

I hope the Athletic Dept can sell beer cup ad space to slightly better sponsors than Nevada Reno. [From my trip to the UNR game, and subsequent trip (one of several) to their beer garden under the end zone bleachers.]

No condemnation of this idea? If I'm not mistaken, Newportcat was roasted here last year for pimping the same idea? If you're going to have a covered practice area, it's too bad the stadium isn't designed such that it could be covered. That would allow early afternoon games in Sept and October to keep fans and students happy and allow east coasters to watch our game at a reasonable time.

The field just north of the stadium is not a full-sized field. I can't see jamming a building in there. I think there's room over at Kindall-Sancet, if they took the second practice field to the east, put the building there, and expanded eastward a bit before they hit the sand volleyball Bear Down Beach. Assuming the normal metal-sided building, that would keep it behind the new (as-yet unbuilt) academic services building, berms, and trees, which would be a lot better aesthetically.

Good point about asthetics...although I can't see any big warehouse looking thing being put up anywhere on campus, no matter how well hidden. That would be almost as bad as a bubble.
I'm thinking it'll have to somewhat resemble a jumbo version of the R. Jefferson facility. Maybe minimizing the brick to the lower half or something though. Expensive in any case...
