I think somebody's just not doing the job, and it's not a priority for RR (but is for a lot of nerdy fans).

Yes, I hear you. The numbers can tell a story sometimes

I was speaking to a friend who is an athletic trainer, not at Arizona. She said it the responsibility of the student athlete to update their bio with the sports media office with weight and height. She said due to privacy, she never communicates with the media office that information. She has never worked in Arizona and said it may vary by state. That means that the student athlete must go to the sports media office to update their bio and that is why it is often outdated; they don't care enough to go in. Not sure the protocol at Arizona but that may explain some of it.

Thanks CB for the insight. I know things change all the time. When I played, they had us on the scales all the time. They would not spend time changing the weight in the programs or rosters, but it was tracked all the time. I also know that Rich Rod has the breakfast club for guys that have target weights that they need to achieve. This is usually a weight loss program, but obviously someone is tracking their weights.

That's interesting and would certainly make sense on Parker Zellers weight having not been adjusted for 2+ years, that he just doesn't want or care to go in and update sports media office. No way he's 247 freshman weight still. :)

That said, I don't think it's that way at UA as incoming frosh ALWAYS have their info posted/published. If there was some privacy law in place, there would have to be a waiver signed for UA to post info in the first place and I would think that there would have been at least one player over the years who enacted that privacy law and didn't have his height/weight listed ever.

Maybe that explains why PJC is listed at 5'10....

Yeah, I don't think kids in Arizona report their own heights and weights, or any P12 roster I keep up with. That'd be saying that all 100 or so UofA kids reported them every year for years, but then zero did the last two years, but then 100 did this year (except for Zellers).

Plus, if kids reported their own, they'd all be 2 inches taller and weight 20 lbs. more. Darrick Holmes wouldn't be 5-5, he'd be 5-8 like the bio he submitted to rivals and scout. It's amazing how many kids shrink from high school to college (unless they were measured at a rivals camp that goes into the database).

I can understand that it's a low priority for coaches and trainers, and is probably the sports information office function (but ran out of gas when they got to the Z's this year).
