Here's the capper: "Blowing off a traditional spring game to concentrate on blocking, tackling and fundamentals is a loud and clear message that the Wildcats are in serious trouble." Well, to begin with, Greg Hansen wouldn't know a loud and clear message if it bit him in the ass, and his opinions defy statistical probability by being wrong as often as he is. It really requires a special kind of talent.

I saw that crap also this morning but did not bring it up ass he is an unending source of sadness. He did manage to give Ryk Neethling some love though. Personally, I think we ae going to have an improved defense, much better than Greg thinks. It is funny that none of the other beat writers covering Arizona hav his pessimistic views.

Can we deport Hansen and build a wall on the Arizona/Utah border, and kick the FLDS on the other side? Oooooo.

Yeah, he likes to pimp for some people he's established a relationship with. Then, if they get the promotion, I'm sure he tells them that the pub he gave them is the real reason they got the job, so he expects a conduit to all the inside gossip in return. Other than the normal routine of actually picking the right person for the job, that's enough reason NOT to pick anybody he promotes. So now, every time a Pac-12 offense averaging way over 30 scores more than 21 points on our defense, we'll hear a constant bleat of "they should have hired my old friend..."

GH loves the digital age. He can essentially blog and get paid for what he churns out. He really doesn't have to actually be there or see anything in order to put out his spin. He does not engage the coaches or the players. If one watches the post football practices you can see him standing there, a bit apart from all the rest of the press just looking. Rich Rod tapes a synopsis of the practice of the day, then he is available for questions. Greg really does not participate. Then, any players that are lingering around are available for questions, Greg does not do much of this either but he usually asks things like what favorite food do you miss from back home? Greg was not at the OKG night, though lots of press including a few journalism majors from the University were. There are weekly pressers, but you can dial into those, so no need to be there. In short, Greg is sort of a ghost that haunts thee south east corner of the main campus. Libel to pop up anywhere and then disappear in a puff of smoke.

Bearing Down on was that Greg or was it just the wind?

Yeah, I knew what you meant. It's guaranteed that if Vanderbilt's defense does anything at all against slug-it-out SEC offenses, while Arizona's defense struggles in the slightest against high-powered Pac-12 offenses, we'll hear all about how Tucson High's own Osia Lewis could've been hired here. The thing is, he started out as a grad assistant or something after his playing days at Oregon State, then went to Illinois. But his last few job-hops have been a little weird. New Mexico, UTEP, the United Football League, and San Diego State aren't exactly inspiring. And the new normal is that the number one job metric is what your work ethic is like in terms of recruiting 365 days a year. I think the Know-It-All blabs what a "perfect fit" his latest idea would be to a lot of people, and how "stupid" Arizona would be if they don't do exactly that. Then, when it doesn't happen and he doesn't look like such a know-it-all, he gets a little, shall we say...testy.
