OUCH - Scooby Ends up running a 4.9 at the combine

This really shocked me. I thought he was going to be at least in the 4.7 area maybe faster with as quick as he plays. With him at only 6 ft I am guessing he drops to round 5 or later. Hopefully he can run faster at the UA pro day. On another note Caleb wasn't that fast BUT the talk of the combine was how slow all the WRs ran.

Not surprised at Cayleb. Speed was never his strong point. But he runs good routes, is tall, and is an excellent leaper. He'll likely get drafted.

I too am shocked about how slow Scooby ran. And yes, this will probably drop his draft status. But, as the saying goes, top line speed straight ahead isn't the best measure in football, because how often do you run 40 yards with nothing impeding you?

What I think looks REALLY bad was Caleb only getting 9 reps on the bench. NINE really when your whole career depends on your numbers. My first thought was what was the UA strength group doing with him?9 9 at 6 3 ugh..

From what I've read Grant and Phillips are monsters in the gym. I think this is on Caleb. The other WRs seem to get it.

On the physics of the bench press. Having done a few and spent some time in the weight room, I will share a little secret. The bench press can be deceptive because the longer your arms, the more distance the weight needs to move. SO some of the short guys, with short arms end up moving more weight a shorter distance each time they lock their arms. The fire plug guys can put up some impressive numbers at times, but it needs to be taken with some consideration of the length of their arms. The guys with long arms have to move the weight farther each press. Now having said all that, 9 presses is not impressive unless your arms are as long as Aaron Gordon's arms.
