Sports fans says the darndest things

Was on vacation last month and ran into a guy from Denver. He was adamant that the Pac12 added Colorado and Utah so that the Pac 12 could recruit Denver kids. I pointed out that it was the need for 12 teams and a championship game that prompted the Pac 12 and that Colorado got tired of Texas dictating what happened in the Big 12, much like Nebraska. But no, he said that Pac 12 wanted to recruit the Denver kids and that what the whole thing was about.

Sports fans say the darndest things and no I am not sure that darndest is even a word.
