I'm sure somebody will link today's Hansen column on the subject, but he's one of the people who earlier incorrectly stated that Colorado's claims had some validity. Unless you're desperate for an angle to write about, there IS no rivalry unless players, fans, and media from BOTH schools feel that way and things are pretty even. You can't just join a new league and declare you're "going after" the top team, so therefore there's some rivalry. That's just self-promotion, as you're trying to say you're just as good as that top team. So, we saw their players waving their arms and rolling their eyes when calls went against them in games against us, and we heard them shooting their mouths off to the media. After every loss, it's been "we'll get them next time." Well, it's six straight games, and mostly blowouts. And, to our players, these guys have always just been nobodies who talk big. I'm sorry Colorado football (which used to be pretty big) has sucked for the last ten years, they pinned all their hopes to basketball, and that fell through. But that's the way it is.
