An interesting side note, I really enjoyed the movie "Almost Famous" by Cameron Crowe about his young life as a 15 yr old writer for local San Diego music scene that led him to getting a job writing for Rolling Stones magazine and following around bands like the Eagles, Zeppelin, and many other huge bands of the day. On Dan Patrick's show, an interview from about 8 mos ago with Glenn Frey, it was discussed about how Frey and Cameron Crowe were very good friends and Crowe used Frey in Jerry Maguire. At first, Crowe wanted Frey to play Kush's father (eventually played by Beau Bridges), but instead he played the Cardinals GM. It was also discussed how Crowe, in making Almost Famous, told Frey that the guitarist Russell Hammond in the fictitious band Stillwater, was mostly based on Glenn Frey. Right down to the quote in the movie by Russell Hammond, "You can write what you want about us, but just make us cool". In real life, Frey said that to a young Cameron Crowe. Pretty cool stuff.
#2 on link confirms what Frey told Dan Patrick
