My faith in humanity is partially restored

Postby Black Oaks » Tue Feb 02, 2016 8:06 am

Trump goes down in Iowa. I am not especially pleased with anyone on either side, but he is my greater of all evils. He alone does not bother me as much as the people who wave signs and howl on cue in his favor. Thank you to those who choose other than Trump.

Yes, I think Trump is at his 30% ceiling already. As the field of Republicans thins out to a top 2-3, not many will switch from say, J.Bush to Trump.

I would have to say I'm pretty disappointed in humanity then. For the life of me I can't understand why so many people still back Hillary. She really should be having to spend her time preparing to defend herself in court, not running for president. It was inexcusable to decide she would hide her dealings in as Sec of State on her on server. And when called on it, she got to decide what would be deleted and what she would hand over. Total BS. Trump had many faults and I would hate to have to vote for him, but I absolutely detest Hillary.

I agree with the sentiment... Out of the hundreds of millions of people in this country, these candidates are the best we got?
Sad state of affairs.

I agree with Vandal about Hillary and I agree with Black Oaks about Trump. To reference the old joke, whenever Trump's or Hillary's lips are moving, they are lying. The choice we will each probably have to make in November is grotesque.

It is like having John Mackovic for football coach and Kevin 'O'Neill for basketball coach. At the same time.

We survived them so maybe we can survive Trump or Hillary.

According to Real Clear Politics fact checkers (a right leaning conservative group), which rates the candidates statements as True, Mostly True, Half True, Mostly False, False, and Pants on Fire, here are the True/Mostly True percentages:

1. Sanders (65%)
2. Clinton (63%)
3. Kasich (62%)
4. Rubio (48%)
5. Cruz (25%)
6. Trump (9%)

The Pants on Fire scores are:
1. Sanders (0)
2. Clinton (2)
3. Kasich (3)
4. Rubio (4)
5. Cruz (7)
6. Trump (21)

Trump is in a league of his own on the "lying" meter (with Cruz and Rubio not scoring so hot either).

Importance level of lies...

Postby Wildcat Jones » Wed Mar 16, 2016 2:27 pm

...would put Hillary over the top.

I mean, politics and politicians in general make me ill. That said, honestly, politicians tell lies to get elected pretty much forever. Think of what Obama and every other president on both sides of the fence have said they would do and didn't do.

But lying in the manner that Hillary has done, with her position, should earn her some additional "points" for level of seriousness, if you know what I mean.

Yes, I agree with Vandal. It amazes me how many people in our country give her a free pass.
